How to use it

  1. 1Type a cron expression (5 fields, or 6 with seconds first) or pick a preset.
  2. 2Read the sentence and the field-by-field breakdown.
  3. 3Pick the server’s time zone to see the next 10 run times as it will see them.

Private by design

Everything runs in this browser tab. Your input is never uploaded, logged or saved on a server, and there are no public "recent" pages. Close the tab and it's gone.

Cron syntax

Five fields, separated by spaces: minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week.

┌──────── minute (0–59)
│ ┌────── hour (0–23)
│ │ ┌──── day of month (1–31)
│ │ │ ┌── month (1–12)
│ │ │ │ ┌ day of week (0–7, Sunday = 0 or 7)
* * * * *
SymbolMeaningExample
*Every value* in hour = every hour
,List1,15 = the 1st and the 15th
-Range1-5 in day of week = Monday to Friday
/Step*/10 in minute = every 10 minutes
L, W, #Last, weekday, nth (Quartz and some schedulers)5#3 = third Friday

Day of month and day of week together

When both day fields are restricted (e.g. 0 0 1 * 1), classic cron runs when either matches: on the 1st of the month and on every Monday. This surprises many people; if you mean "Mondays that are the 1st", check the date inside the job instead.

Frequently asked questions

Which time zone does cron use?

The time zone of the machine or service running it. Many cloud schedulers (Kubernetes CronJobs by default, GitHub Actions, AWS EventBridge) use UTC. Pick the zone above to see the run times as the scheduler will.

Does it support seconds?

Yes. With 6 fields, the first one is seconds, as in Quartz, Spring and node-cron.

What happens during daylight saving changes?

In zones with DST, a run at a skipped time (e.g. 02:30 on the spring-forward night) may not happen, and one in the repeated hour may happen twice, depending on the scheduler. The next-run list shows the real times in the chosen zone.
