ULID Generator
Generate ULIDs: 26-character, sortable, URL-safe identifiers. Paste a ULID to read when it was created.

How to use it
- 1Choose how many ULIDs you need and click Generate.
- 2Copy them; they sort by creation time as plain strings.

Why ULIDs
A ULID carries the same information as a UUID v7 (a millisecond timestamp plus randomness) in a shorter, case-insensitive text form without dashes. Crockford Base32 leaves out I, L, O and U to avoid misreading.
Because the time comes first, sorting ULIDs as strings sorts them by creation time, which keeps database indexes and log listings in order.
Frequently asked questions
Are these IDs secure and unique?
They use your browser’s cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues). A v4 UUID has 122 random bits, a ULID 80 and a v7 UUID 74 for every millisecond, so a collision is not a practical concern. IDs are generated on your device and never sent anywhere.
Can I convert a ULID to a UUID?
Both are 128 bits, so a ULID can be stored in a UUID column by re-encoding the bytes. The text forms differ; the timestamps match.
